The VTE Paguro 9000 is a high-speed marine diesel generator for 60Hz AC systems. In the 60Hz configuration, it delivers 8.5 kW continuous output, or 10 kVA, at 3,600 RPM and uses a Lombardini LDW 702 two-cylinder diesel engine with a water-cooled brushless synchronous alternator. It is available for 115V or 115/230V single-phase output, depending on the exact alternator configuration.
The generator uses freshwater cooling through a heat exchanger and a self-priming raw-water pump, with a stainless-steel water jacket cooling the alternator. It is housed in a reinforced fiberglass soundproof capsule and includes remote LCD controls with hour meter, load indication, frequency or engine-speed display, automatic start, and low-oil-pressure plus over-temperature protection.
Key Specifications
- High-speed marine diesel generator for 60Hz single-phase AC systems.
- Provides 8.5 kW continuous output, equivalent to 10 kVA, at 3,600 RPM.
- Uses a Lombardini LDW 702 two-cylinder diesel engine.
- Available in 115V or 115/230V single-phase 60Hz configurations, depending on ordered alternator option.
- Uses a brushless synchronous alternator with capacitor regulation and stainless-steel water-jacket cooling.
- Uses freshwater heat-exchanger cooling and a self-priming raw-water pump.
- Includes 12V electric start, 8A battery charger, remote LCD controls, automatic start, and protective shutdown functions.
- Noise is listed at approximately 52 dB(A) at 7 m; actual onboard noise depends on installation, load, mounting, and exhaust design.
Electrical Compatibility
Confirm the exact ordered voltage configuration before purchase: 115V single-phase or 115/230V single-phase at 60Hz. The 60Hz version should not be confused with the 50Hz Paguro 9000 configuration, which operates at 3,000 RPM and has different output ratings. Generator selection should account for continuous load, simultaneous demand, power factor, and the highest motor-starting surge.
Include air conditioning, refrigeration compressors, battery chargers, pumps, watermakers, galley appliances, and other inductive loads in the load calculation. Do not select generator capacity from nominal appliance wattage alone.
Installation Considerations
Install the generator on a rigid vibration-isolated foundation with service access for oil, filters, coolant, raw-water pump, exhaust, electrical terminals, and capsule removal. Provide diesel fuel feed and return, raw-water intake and strainer, wet exhaust, ventilation, starting battery, AC distribution, grounding, and a shore-power transfer switch or interlock that prevents simultaneous generator and shore-power connection. Installation and commissioning should be completed by a qualified marine generator technician.
Before Ordering
Confirm required continuous and surge load within 8.5 kW, exact 115V or 115/230V single-phase 60Hz configuration, available installation space, structural support, diesel fuel-system layout, raw-water intake, exhaust route, ventilation capacity, starting-battery circuit, remote-panel cable route, AC distribution and transfer-switch design, grounding plan, service access, and qualified marine-generator installation requirements before purchase.
