The Phasor SEP-7.0 is a radiator-cooled diesel generator for applications requiring 7 kW of 120/240V single-phase 60Hz AC power. It uses a Kubota D1005-E three-cylinder diesel engine operating at 1,800 RPM with a direct-coupled brushless generator and solid-state voltage regulation. Unlike a raw-water heat-exchanger or keel-cooled generator, this open-skid model rejects heat through its integral radiator and engine-driven cooling fan.
The generator is suited to installations with sufficient airflow for the radiator and engine compartment. It includes a remote instrument panel with oil-pressure, coolant-temperature, voltage, and hour-meter gauges, plus automatic shutdown for low oil pressure and high coolant temperature. A complete installation requires fuel plumbing, exhaust, ventilation, starting battery, AC distribution, grounding, and shore-power transfer isolation.
Key Specifications
- Radiator-cooled 60Hz diesel generator for 120/240V single-phase AC systems.
- Provides 7 kW continuous output at 1,800 RPM.
- Uses a Kubota D1005-E three-cylinder diesel engine with approximately 1,001 cc displacement.
- Provides 120/240V output with approximately 58A at 120V or 29A at 240V.
- Uses a direct-coupled brushless generator with solid-state voltage regulation.
- Uses an integral radiator and engine-driven blower fan rather than raw-water or keel cooling.
- Consumes approximately 0.68 US gallons per hour, or 2.57 L per hour, at full load.
- Measures approximately 889 mm by 533 mm by 610 mm and weighs approximately 218 kg.
Electrical Compatibility
This generator is intended for 120/240V single-phase 60Hz AC systems. Confirm continuous electrical demand, simultaneous loads, power factor, motor-starting surge, and distribution-panel requirements before selecting a 7 kW generator. Include refrigeration, battery chargers, pumps, air conditioning, watermakers, galley loads, and other inductive appliances in the calculation.
The radiator-cooled configuration requires sufficient engine-room ventilation to remove both combustion heat and radiator heat. It is not a direct replacement for a raw-water-cooled or keel-cooled generator without evaluating the vessel’s ventilation and exhaust design.
Installation Considerations
Mount the generator on a rigid vibration-isolated base with service access for oil, filters, coolant, radiator, fan, exhaust, electrical terminals, and fuel-system components. Provide diesel fuel feed and return lines, a safe exhaust route, adequate ventilation, a starting-battery circuit, AC distribution, grounding, and a shore-power transfer switch or interlock that prevents simultaneous shore and generator power connection. Installation and commissioning should be completed by a qualified marine generator technician.
Before Ordering
Confirm required continuous and surge load within 7 kW, 120/240V single-phase 60Hz compatibility, available 889 mm by 533 mm by 610 mm installation space, structural support for approximately 218 kg, sufficient radiator ventilation, diesel fuel layout, exhaust route, starting-battery circuit, AC distribution and transfer-switch design, grounding plan, service access, and qualified installation requirements before purchase.
