The Phasor KK3-7.0 is a keel-cooled marine diesel generator for vessels requiring 7 kW of 120/240V single-phase 60Hz AC power. It uses a Kubota D1005-E4BG three-cylinder diesel engine operating at 1,800 RPM with a direct-coupled brushless generator and solid-state voltage regulation. The keel-cooled configuration is intended for vessels with a properly engineered closed-loop keel-cooling, grid-cooling, or skin-cooling circuit.
The base generator is open frame, with an optional sound enclosure available separately. Unlike a conventional raw-water heat-exchanger generator, the KK3-7.0 relies on the vessel’s external cooling circuit to reject engine heat. It includes a remote shutdown panel with oil-pressure, coolant-temperature, voltage, and hour-meter gauges, plus automatic protection for low oil pressure and high coolant temperature.
Key Specifications
- Keel-cooled marine diesel generator for 120/240V single-phase 60Hz AC systems.
- Provides 7 kW continuous output at 1,800 RPM.
- Uses a Kubota D1005-E4BG three-cylinder diesel engine with 54.8 cubic inches, or approximately 898 cc, displacement.
- Provides 120/240V output with 58A at 120V or 29A at 240V.
- Uses a direct-coupled brushless generator with solid-state voltage regulation.
- Requires a correctly engineered closed-loop keel-cooling, grid-cooling, or skin-cooling system.
- Uses an engine-driven circulation pump for the closed coolant circuit.
- Measures approximately 800 mm by 457 mm by 584 mm and weighs approximately 156 kg in base open-frame configuration.
Electrical Compatibility
This generator is intended for 120/240V single-phase 60Hz systems. Confirm the vessel’s voltage and distribution arrangement, continuous load, simultaneous demand, power factor, and largest motor-starting surge. Generator capacity should be matched to actual electrical demand, including battery chargers, refrigeration, pumps, air conditioning, watermakers, and galley loads.
This is a keel-cooled model. Confirm that the vessel has a cooling circuit with adequate thermal capacity for the engine and generator before ordering. It is not a direct substitute for a raw-water heat-exchanger generator without redesigning the cooling system.
Installation Considerations
Install the generator on a rigid vibration-isolated foundation with service access for oil, filters, coolant, electrical connections, exhaust, and optional sound enclosure components. Connect the closed cooling circuit to the correctly sized keel cooler, grid cooler, or skin cooler, and verify coolant volume, hose routing, air bleeding, and flow. Install diesel fuel feed and return, exhaust, ventilation, starting battery, AC distribution, grounding, and shore-power transfer isolation. Installation and commissioning should be completed by a qualified marine generator technician.
Before Ordering
Confirm required continuous and surge load within 7 kW, 120/240V single-phase 60Hz compatibility, an engineered keel-, grid-, or skin-cooling circuit, available installation space, structural support for approximately 156 kg, open-frame or sound-enclosure configuration, diesel fuel layout, exhaust route, ventilation capacity, starting-battery circuit, AC distribution and transfer-switch design, grounding plan, service access, and qualified marine-generator installation requirements before purchase.
