The Phasor K3-8.0 Compact is a low-speed 60Hz marine diesel generator for vessels requiring 8 kW of 120/240V single-phase AC power. It uses a Kubota D1005-E4BG three-cylinder diesel engine operating at 1,800 RPM and a direct-coupled brushless generator with solid-state voltage regulation. The base generator is an open-frame unit, with a sound enclosure available as an option for installations that require additional sound attenuation.
The generator uses freshwater heat-exchanger cooling and an engine-driven raw-water circuit. It includes a remote safety-shutdown panel with analogue engine and electrical gauges plus an hour meter. A complete installation requires diesel fuel, raw-water, exhaust, ventilation, starting battery, AC distribution, transfer switching, grounding, circuit protection, and qualified commissioning.
Key Specifications
- Compact low-speed marine diesel generator for 120/240V single-phase 60Hz AC systems.
- Provides 8 kW continuous output at 1,800 RPM.
- Uses a Kubota D1005-E4BG three-cylinder diesel engine with 61 cubic inches, or approximately 1,000 cc, displacement.
- Provides 120/240V output with a listed capacity of 66A at 120V or 33A at 240V.
- Uses a direct-coupled brushless generator with solid-state voltage regulation.
- Uses freshwater heat-exchanger cooling with raw-water circulation.
- Measures approximately 673 mm by 457 mm by 572 mm and weighs approximately 186 kg in base generator configuration.
- Includes a remote safety-shutdown panel with oil-pressure, coolant-temperature, voltage, and hour-meter gauges.
Electrical Compatibility
This generator is designed for 120/240V single-phase 60Hz AC distribution. Verify actual vessel voltage, frequency, panel arrangement, continuous electrical demand, simultaneous loads, power factor, and largest motor-starting surge before purchase. The 8 kW rating must accommodate real operating loads rather than only nominal appliance labels.
Include air conditioning, battery chargers, refrigeration compressors, freshwater pumps, bilge pumps, watermakers, galley appliances, and other inductive loads when calculating generator demand. Confirm whether an optional sound enclosure is required for the generator room or intended vessel use.
Installation Considerations
Mount the generator on a rigid vibration-isolated foundation with service clearance for oil, filters, coolant, raw-water pump, exhaust, electrical terminals, and optional enclosure components. Install diesel fuel feed and return lines, seawater intake and strainer, wet exhaust, ventilation, starting battery, AC breakers, grounding, and shore-power transfer isolation. Installation and commissioning should be completed by a qualified marine generator technician.
Before Ordering
Confirm required continuous and surge load within 8 kW, 120/240V single-phase 60Hz compatibility, available 673 mm by 457 mm by 572 mm base installation space, structural support for approximately 186 kg, required sound-enclosure configuration, diesel fuel-system layout, raw-water intake, exhaust route, ventilation capacity, starting-battery circuit, AC distribution and transfer-switch design, grounding plan, service access, and qualified marine-generator installation requirements before purchase.
