The Lombardini Marine LMG 6000 is a compact supersilenced marine diesel generator for vessels requiring 230V, 50Hz single-phase AC power. It delivers 5 kW continuous output, or 6 kVA, at 3,000 RPM and uses a Lombardini LDW 702 MG two-cylinder diesel engine with a water-cooled brushless alternator. The generator is housed in an insulated fiberglass canopy for reduced noise in a properly ventilated marine installation.
The LMG 6000 uses freshwater cooling through a seawater heat exchanger, with self-priming raw-water circulation. It includes a remote electronic control panel with automatic start and shutdown protection. A full installation requires separate diesel fuel plumbing, raw-water intake, exhaust system, ventilation, starting battery, AC distribution panel, shore-power transfer equipment, grounding arrangement, circuit protection, and marine-grade wiring.
Key Specifications
- Compact supersilenced marine diesel generator for 230V single-phase 50Hz AC systems.
- Provides 5 kW continuous output, equivalent to 6 kVA.
- Uses a Lombardini LDW 702 MG two-cylinder diesel engine with 686 cc displacement.

- Uses a synchronous brushless water-cooled alternator.
- Uses freshwater closed-loop cooling through a seawater heat exchanger and self-priming raw-water pump.
- Fuel consumption is listed at approximately 1.6 L per hour at 75% load.
- Measures approximately 615 mm by 468 mm by 555 mm and has a listed dry weight of approximately 140 kg.
System Integration
This generator requires a complete marine electrical and mechanical installation. Add the required diesel fuel feed and return, seawater intake and strainer, wet exhaust arrangement, ventilation, 12V starting battery, AC distribution panel, shore-power transfer switch or interlock, grounding and bonding, circuit breakers, and suitable marine cabling.
Confirm the vessel uses 230V, 50Hz single-phase electrical equipment and calculate continuous plus surge demand before purchase. Consider battery charging, refrigeration, air conditioning, water pumps, galley loads, watermakers, and motor-starting current to prevent generator overload.
Installation Considerations
Mount the generator on a rigid vibration-isolated base with service clearance for fuel filters, oil, coolant, impeller, exhaust, electrical connections, and canopy access. Maintain secure fuel and cooling connections, safe exhaust routing, adequate fresh-air supply, and correct electrical isolation from shore power. Commission the system by testing voltage, frequency, cooling flow, exhaust integrity, remote controls, alarm functions, automatic shutdown, and load response.
Before Ordering
Confirm required continuous and surge electrical load within 5 kW, 230V single-phase 50Hz compatibility, available 615 mm by 468 mm by 555 mm installation space, support for approximately 140 kg, diesel fuel-system layout, raw-water intake, exhaust route, ventilation capacity, starting-battery circuit, remote-panel cable route, AC distribution and transfer-switch design, grounding plan, service access, and qualified marine-generator installation requirements before purchase.
