The Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 72cv is a compact 7-inch chartplotter and fishfinder display with traditional CHIRP, ClearVü, WiFi data sharing, NMEA 2000, and NMEA 0183. It includes a Worldwide Basemap but no transducer, so this model suits buyers building a Garmin installation or replacing a display while selecting sonar hardware separately. Its 800 x 480 screen fits smaller consoles.

Key Features

- 7-inch WVGA display – Provides a compact chart and sonar screen for small boats.
- 800 x 480 resolution – Displays essential navigation and fishfinding information while keeping the unit easy to fit.
- Traditional CHIRP and ClearVü support – Provides conventional and downward sonar views when paired with a compatible transducer.
- Worldwide Basemap – Provides basic global reference mapping, but detailed regional charts are not included.
- WiFi, NMEA 2000, and NMEA 0183 – Provides confirmed wireless and wired data connections.

Who Is This For?

This unit suits small fishing boats, freshwater craft, compact center consoles, and Garmin owners who already have a transducer plan. Its 7-inch size provides more viewing area than a 5-inch display without taking up a large helm section.

It is not ideal for buyers seeking a complete ready-to-fish package because the transducer is not included. It is also less suitable for coastal navigation if the Worldwide Basemap does not provide the detail required for your operating area.

Compatibility

Confirmed interfaces include WiFi for data sharing, NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183, traditional CHIRP, ClearVü, and Worldwide Basemap operation. The supplied information does not identify a specific compatible transducer, radar, autopilot, or third-party chartplotter system. No named incompatible system was provided; verify Garmin accessory and network requirements before installation.

The ECHOMAP UHD2 72cv is the flexible display-only choice for buyers who want both NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 connections in a compact Garmin unit. It offers more network connectivity than the focused Lowrance Eagle packages, but it includes only a Worldwide Basemap and no transducer. Choose it for a planned Garmin system where chart and sonar hardware will be selected separately.
