Overview

This wood accent variation of the Rocket Espresso Appartamento Walnut is an exclusive customization offered by Whole Latte Love, emphasizing Rocket’s meticulous attention to detail. The Appartamento truly highlights this fact, and this specific version includes custom walnut accents that beautifully accentuate the elegance of its design. Its hyper-stylized steam and hot water knobs feature an easy-grip gear design and Rocket’s iconic “R” logo. The wide feet subtly resemble espresso pucks, and the distinctive laser-cut side panels reveal a copper or white underbelly, all of which is rounded out by a striking mirror finish. Like any dedicated Rocket fan, we’re completely in love with the aesthetics of this compact machine.

Features and Performance

As a heat exchanger (HX) machine, the Appartamento offers the significant advantage of being able to brew and steam at the same time. This means there’s no downtime between preparing espresso shots and steaming milk for multiple milk-based drinks, making your workflow incredibly efficient. An E61 group head is central to its performance, maintaining stable brew water temperature by continuously syphoning water from the boiler, through the group, and back, ensuring a consistent temperature throughout the entire extraction process.

Enhanced E61 and Dual Pre-Infusion

Rocket has further enhanced their E61 group to incorporate a sophisticated dual pre-infusion system. This system consists of a static pre-infusion chamber and a mechanical element that has a progressively working piston. This meticulous design results in incredibly aromatic, crema-rich extractions, consistently delivering a superior cup. This machine truly embodies both beauty and brains.

Internally, the Appartamento employs a large 1.8 L copper boiler, which, in concert with a 1200 watt heating element, makes for impressive strength brew after brew. Integrated electronic sensors diligently monitor both the boiler and reservoir levels for low volumes, issuing alerts to prevent any issues. If, for whatever reason, these warnings are ignored, the Appartamento is designed to safely shut down automatically to avoid a dry-boil. This protective feature ensures the machine continues functioning at its best for years to come.

Why You Should Get It

One of the nicest things about buying a Rocket machine is that it comes with a really in-depth training guide and manual, providing you with all the knowledge needed to master your espresso. Plus, they’re one of the very few brands to include a high-quality metal tamper with their machines, rather than a flimsy plastic one you’d never use. Rocket truly goes the extra mile to make setup easy and ensure you’re ready to brew soon after unboxing the Appartamento. For those seeking added temperature stability, consider the Giotto Type V or Mozzafiato, both machines employ a PID controller for brew water that’s temperature-stable to the degree.

The Rocket Espresso Appartamento Walnut Accents is a reliable, stylish, and compact espresso machine, perfectly suited for any home barista’s setup. Its ability to brew and steam simultaneously, combined with its precise E61 group head and dual pre-infusion, ensures consistent, high-quality results. If you value a machine that combines iconic design with robust performance, featuring elegant walnut wood details, the Appartamento is an excellent investment for enjoying café-quality espresso in your home.
