We are truly enamored with the striking look of this machine.

Features and Performance

As a heat exchanger (HX) machine, the Appartamento offers the significant advantage of being able to brew and steam simultaneously, eliminating any downtime between preparing espresso and steaming milk for multiple milk-based drinks. An E61 group head is central to its performance, maintaining stable brew water temperature by continuously syphoning water from the boiler, through the group, and back, ensuring consistent temperature throughout the extraction. Rocket has further enhanced their E61 group to incorporate a sophisticated dual pre-infusion system. This system comprises a static pre-infusion chamber and a mechanical element with a progressively working piston, resulting in incredibly aromatic and crema-rich extractions. This machine truly embodies both beauty and brains.

Internally, the Appartamento employs a large 1.8 L Amazonite boiler, which, in concert with a powerful 1200 watt heating element, provides impressive strength for brew after brew. Integrated electronic sensors diligently monitor both the boiler and reservoir levels for low volumes, issuing alerts to prevent issues. If, for any reason, these warnings are ignored, the Appartamento is designed to safely shut down automatically to avoid a dry-boil scenario. This protective feature ensures the machine continues functioning at its best for years to come.

Why You Should Get It

One of the nicest aspects of purchasing a Rocket machine is the inclusion of a really in-depth training guide and manual. Furthermore, they are one of the very few brands to include a high-quality metal tamper with their machines, rather than a flimsy plastic one you’d likely never use. The Serie Nera also thoughtfully includes a much-needed metal cup railing in the box, enhancing its functionality and aesthetic. For added temperature stability and PID-controlled boiler temperature, you might consider the Giotto or Mozzafiato Type V models.

The Rocket Espresso Appartamento Serie Nera Amazonite is reliable and sleek, perfectly rounding out any home barista’s setup and fully capable of consistently cranking out shots for days (and months, and years). If you appreciate Rocket’s iconic style but need your machine to slide into a smaller space, at just 9 inches wide, the Appartamento is an excellent choice. However, if you require even more power and capacity, the dual boiler R58 stands as an excellent step up. The Serie Nera Amazonite combines stunning visual appeal with robust heat exchanger performance, making it a dream machine for espresso lovers.
