Pair the Honda BF115JK1LRA 115HP Outboard with a 20-inch-transom boat when traditional mechanical controls are preferred for freshwater fishing and recreational operation. Its 2,354 cc inline four-cylinder DOHC engine uses 16 valves and produces 115 HP at 5,250 RPM. Honda BF115JK1LRA is a 4-stroke outboard with Programmed Fuel Injection, electric starting, remote mechanical control, and Power Trim & Tilt. The mechanical-control layout keeps throttle and shifting connected through the boat’s conventional rigging system.

The 472-lb dry weight should be included in repower calculations, particularly when replacing a lighter outboard. A 4,500–6,000 RPM full-throttle range provides a practical reference for propeller setup, while the 2.14:1 gear ratio supports standard forward, neutral, and reverse operation. The 40-amp alternator supplies 30 charging amps for supported accessories and marine electronics. Engine oil capacity is listed at 6.7 L with filter; gearcase lubricant capacity and service timing should be checked in the applicable Honda manual.

Why Choose the Honda BF115JK1LRA

This mechanical version suits owners who want a familiar control arrangement rather than an iST digital system. The 20-inch shaft matches a common long-transom layout, while the 115 HP rating gives a properly rated sport or fishing boat a clear repower option without changing to electronic helm controls.

- Mechanical controls simplify conventional rigging
- 115 HP suits approved freshwater sport boats
- 30 charging amps support marine accessories
