Audi A6 A8 Automatic Transmission 5-Speed 5HP-24 Tag 10661T Remanufactured

During daily stop-and-go commuting, the Audi A6 A8 automatic transmission 5-speed 5HP-24 Tag 10661T remanufactured gearbox maintains crisp gear changes without gear hunting or clutch slippage. High-mileage luxury cars often suffer from worn valve body bores and degraded clutch seals, resulting in loose shifts and flashing gear indicators on the instrument cluster. This remanufactured unit incorporates brand-new bonded rubber clutch pistons, updated pressure regulator valves, a reinforced steel A-clutch drum, and premium friction discs engineered to handle V8 acceleration.

The aluminum casing undergoes precision bead-blasting and thread restoration, ensuring all bellhousing and starter bolts torque to factory specifications without stripping. Remanufacturing technicians sleeve the main line pressure regulator bore with aircraft-grade aluminum sleeves, restoring consistent fluid pressure to the clutch drums. Dyno testing under real-world vehicle weight loads confirms proper torque converter lockup and gear shifting before the transmission leaves the testing facility.

Technical Specifications of 5HP-24 Tag 10661T

- Tag 10661T Factory Ratio Calibration: Planetary gearsets and differential ring gear match vehicle transmission control module coding.
- Heavy-Duty Reinforced A-Clutch Drum: Upgraded drum cylinder eliminates snap-ring groove failure to permanently restore forward drive.
- Bonded Rubber Hydraulic Clutch Pistons: Prevents pressure loss inside clutch drums to maintain immediate gear apply speeds.
- Sleeved Aluminum Pressure Regulator Bore: Eliminates internal pressure loss to prevent delayed reverse and forward gear drops.
- Heavy-Duty Remanufactured Torque Converter: Rebuilt with fresh friction surfaces and tested for total balance runout.

Clutch Piston Sealing & Internal Pressure Balance

Built for European passenger cars, this remanufactured transmission delivers dependable hydraulic control through updated internal sealing.

- Updated bonded rubber pistons eliminate pressure bypass, keeping clutch plates fully clamped under engine acceleration.
- Precision valve body calibration prevents gear hunting during highway passing maneuvers, reducing transmission fluid temperatures.
- Fresh internal filtration traps wear particles before fluid reaches sensitive electronic shift control solenoids.

Subframe Alignment & Front Axle Output Fitment

Engineered for Audi A6 and A8 models specifying tag code 10661T on the casing data plate, this transaxle integrates with factory front CV drive axles without modifications.

Commercial Coverage & Maintenance Upkeep

- Automotive repair centers receive 3-Year or 100,000-mile warranty protection covering all internal rotating assemblies and casing integrity.

Flush the vehicle cooler lines with pressurized solvent, replace the transmission filter, and fill the transmission with approved synthetic fluid meeting VW G 052 162 specifications.
